Working with diverse fathers

A one-day training course to help participants:

  • develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to work effectively with fathers from “different” communities
  • explore and examine their own unique cultural heritage/s and the resources they have to support fathers
  • explore the challenges of working with prejudice
  • think about how to create organisations which respond flexibly to the needs of fathers from a range of cultures
  • plan needs-led approaches to engaging with and supporting different fathers
  • consider how to develop support networks for themselves as workers.

The course is aimed at managers, staff and volunteers in all settings or teams that work, or plan to work, directly with fathers from diverse communities.
