Only one in eight dads takes the lead on reading with their children - a pretty depressing statistic, given what we know about how important fathers are to their children's learning and development. Great dads do more than just put bread on the table - they also read with their children, talk and listen to them, play games and puzzles, show them interesting TV and films, and introduce them to new experiences. They also get involved at school, and commit to getting home from work in time to do all this! If you're a dad struggling to do your bit, check out our free resources on the Fathers' Story Week website. And if you want to share your love of reading with other dads, why not volunteer to run FRED at your local school? Read the full story »
