We are delighted to announce that the Nuffield Foundation is funding us to research fathers’ and father figures’ experiences during the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.

Working with BritainThinks, we will be undertaking a mixed-methodology piece of research with fathers and father figures, aiming to understand fathers’ circumstances during and experiences of the coronavirus lockdown.

Throughout the research we will explore whether and how working, housework and childcare practices have changed, alongside a broader set of questions about the impact of the lockdown (and those changes) on relationships between fathers and their children, families and the other parents of their children and desires and aspirations for life after the lockdown has ended.

We will publish our findings in September 2020.
