Why men are just as capable at childcare as women

Despite decades of progress towards gender equality, many people still believe women are naturally better at caring for children. This belief is so powerful that it underlies much of the policy and practice relating to UK parents, not to mention the media ‘noise’ and messages that surround us.
In fact, research suggests that men are just as capable at caring for children as women are – and that, just like in women, the act of caring for children causes hormonal changes in men that facilitate care-taking.
