New web network for Eastern European fatherhood advocates
A new website Mencandoit is now available to promote involved fatherhood in Eastern Europe. Its role is to:
- disseminate information on working with men in former soviet republics in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
- develop cooperation and partnerships between individuals and organisations in post-Soviet countries
- provide information to the media and to private and public sectors.
So far, the ‘programmes’ section features six fatherhood-related programmes, with contact details and materials used in these also published on the website. On the main website they appear in Russian, but you can find them in English here:
- Father Schools (Belarus, Russia, Ukraine);
- Fathers’ Council (7 Russian regions are engaged);
- Father Can (Belarus);
- Father’s Day (Eastern Europe)
- To Become Closer (Poland);
- Dads Art Project (Belarus).
Inspirational tales of talented men who have contributed to children and families in their communities are also featured on the website, as are articles, magazines and radio and TV programmes that address fatherhood issues. A quarterly newsletter is published in the news section. This can be downloaded free here.
You can also get in touch via Facebook, Twitter and on Pinterest. And/or leave your contact details here.
