Blog: UN report spotlights global need for more father-inclusive public policy
Men in Families and Family Policy in a Changing World, published by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, emphasises the need for policy-makers to create policies that can engage constructively with men in their caring roles, both within and beyond traditional family structures. The report includes five chapters, on fathers and gender equality; fathers in families; fathers in challenging family contexts; fathers and migration; and fathers and HIV/Aids – and gives a fascinating overview of the changing shape of fatherhood across the contemporary world.
