The Great Father Christmas Run…for the Fatherhood Institute!

8 September 2011

Fathers have had a bad press recently, blamed for riots and all manner of social ills. Well now’s your chance to stand up for dads – or more accurately, to run for them. It’s time to get festive, dress up as Father Christmas and raise a minimum of £100 each by running (or walking…or wheeling*) 5k or 10k for the Fatherhood Institute!!

We need people to help us raise funds by taking part in a massive charity fun-run on 4 December in London’s Greenwich Park or 11 December in Manchester’s Heaton Park. If you work with families, this could be a great opportunity to get them motivated around a common cause – especially in the wake of all the bad publicity about dads in the wake of the riots. It also makes for a brilliant and fun day out.

Staff from the Fatherhood Institute will be running – come and join us making fools of ourselves and raising money to support positive father-child relationships! Oh and by the way, the Santa suits are free…

Download more details from this link: Santa-Run-Info-Pack-2011 (London and Manc), or register online here for London or here for Manchester.

If you have any questions, please contact our fundraising manager, Kate Tanner – send her an email or call her on 0792 052 5686.

* Please note that while both courses are buggy and wheelchair-accessible, they both contain hilly sections which could be difficult to manage if bad weather makes them muddy and slippy.
