Don’t miss The Dad Factor – our conference about getting fathers involved in schools

25 January 2011

Join us at our major conference on Friday 18 March in central London, to explore how to mobilise the unique contribution fathers can make to their children’s educational attainment and learning.

At the event you’ll hear from a range of professionals from education and early years, as well as from fathers themselves, about the secrets of their success – all of great interest if you work in an early years or family learning environment, or if you work in education.
Perhaps you’re based at a school and have spotted the potential for using the Pupil Premium to help you reach out to dads (resident and non-resident, and stepfathers)…but you need some inspiration about how to turn your dream into a reality?
Whatever your interest in fathers and children’s education, this is the conference for you. We have invited a Government Minister to talk about what the Coalition’s agenda for schools means for engaging fathers (at our last conference we were joined by children’s minister Tim Loughton MP) , and you’ll be able to hear from the Institute’s own Head of Research, Adrienne Burgess, presenting the latest evidence about the impact of father’s involvement on children’s attainment, aspirations and achievement – as well as from a range of professionals, and dads themselves.
