Young imprisoned fathers’ parenting aspirations
Rosie Meek’s paper ‘The parenting possible selves of young fathers in prison’ draws on the social psychological concept of ‘possible selves’ to explore young imprisoned dads’ parenting aspirations and concerns.
Her study of 39 such fathers offers insights around the young fathers’ feelings about separation from their children, and around other issues such as substance use and violence.
