Happy New Year…and some great news from the Fatherhood Institute

We’d like to wish everyone who works with dads, and who has supported us over the last twelve months, a very Happy New Year!
We’d also like to share with you some fantastic news… Duncan Fisher, our Chief Executive, has been made an Officer of the British Empire for services to children in the New Year’s Honours List.
Duncan (pictured right), who co-founded the Fatherhood Institute, has spearheaded a string of initiatives including:
- a campaign for greater work flexibility and leave entitlements for fathers so that both parents are better equipped to care for babies and young children at home
- a campaign to enable fathers to better support mothers during pregnancy and birth, and
- a major cross-charity campaign to improve support for separating families, called “Kids in the Middle” – which prompted the Government’s first ever ‘Relationship Summit’ and secured £55 million backing for separating families and children affected by relationship breakdown.
We are really proud that Duncan has been honoured in this way.
