Disabled dads speak out about their experiences
The Disability, Pregnancy and Parenthood International Journal provides first-hand accounts and useful practice guidance relating to working with mums and dads with disabilities.
The journal has featured several dads’ stories, including those of Mohammed Rashid from Birmingham, who has been blind since birth and has a five-year-old son, Iftikhar, who is sighted (to read Mohammed’s story click here); and of Bryan Scatchard, a new father with rheumatoid arthritis, from Lincolnshire, UK, (to read Bryan’s story click here).
The Journal provided the inspiration for, and remains an integral part of, the DPPi Information Service, now offered at the National Centre for Disabled Parents. For more details click here.
