Young fathers wanted to take part in research project

7 August 2008

A PhD student conducting research about young fathers and the relationship they have with their children, needs participants to take part in 1-hour face-to-face interviews.  There is £25 payment per interview and the researcher travels as necessary to meet the young fathers.

The research involves both resident and non-resident young fathers from the area of London. They must be under 24. The areas covered are what the young fathers do with their child/ren when they spend time together (play, reading, education), how the relationship develops over time, changes, what helps and doesn’t, the relationship with the mother and professional help, amongst other things that come up in the course of the interviews.  The research uses a narrative approach, so the young fathers are encouraged to tell their own stories about their experience of fatherhood.
