The BRAVE Project: Bradford

28 July 2008

In 2005, Sue Dominey won a Winston Churchill Travelling Foundation Grant to research violence prevention work with boys and young men in Australia and New Zealand. Together, Sue and her partner Pete travelled there for 10 weeks.

A fascinating report written for the Churchill Foundation followed and Sue and Pete are now continuing their innovative work in this field in Bradford through BRAVE (Bradford Reducing Anger & Violent Emotions).

Current initiatives include groupwork evening courses for men who want to end violent and abusive behaviour and a forthcoming multi-disciplinary conference on Friday 3rd October – Building Safe Relationships/Protective Behaviours – at which will be launched the BRAVE monthly forum ‘Man Alive’ which will focus on the mental health and wellbeing of boys and men.

To download a flyer for this event, right click on its title under RELATED DOCUMENTS (below), choose ‘Save Target As . . .’ and the Word document should download quickly.
