Realising Men’s Role in the Care Sector

Building on the experience of the last two years of the Men Can Care programme and last years successful event, this one-day conference will examine the roles, experiences, barriers and opportunities for men working not only with children and young people but within a wide range of care, health and education settings.

Speakers from across the spectrum of care services will provide insights and illustrations to the key issues in attracting and retaining more men in care careers. Delegates will also receive a free copy of commissioned research
by Strathclyde University evaluating the first year of the Men Can Care project

Who should attend

The conference is for policy makers and practitioners working across a range of care and education settings in the statutory and voluntary sectors. It will be of particular interest to education, out-of-school care settings, social work, residential community education, youth work, health and leisure.
