Conference on involving dads in children’s learning

21 September 2006

Engaging fathers and male carers in children’s education will be a particular focus of a conference to be held in January.

The Learning families – healthy communities conference, organised by leading community learning organisation ContinYou, will focus on developing and embedding family learning and parenting within schools and other community settings.

Fathers Direct chief executive Duncan Fisher will speak at the event, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham on January 31, and there will be a host of workshops including one by Mary-Ann Riddle from Dumfries and Galloway, about engaging dads and male carers.

All delegates will receive a free copy of the It’s a man thing fathers and reading pack.
