Parents Week Wales
Parents Week 2005, the sixth national awareness week for parents, families and those who work to support them. The theme is Real Stories and follows the findings from Parents Week 2004 that looked at how families spend time together. Real Stories will focus on hearing about the challenges and good times that families experience.
Children in Wales will also be involved with theirFforwm Magu Plant (Raising Children Forum) events.
We are running a National Parenting Conference at Brangwyn Hall Swansea on October the 5th. ‘Empowering mothers, fathers and carers in Wales’ will bring together professionals and parents to highlight successful ways of working together to promote positive parenting skills (See attached materials)
We are also going to be launching the New Occupational Standards for Work with Families, recently developed in a four nations level. These new standards will be the basis for the development of vocational training in 5th field of parenting. They will be launched at a Cardiff event on October 21st.
